Franklin Ballenger - Board Officer

Franklin has been on the Sunshine Board of Directors since 2005. He initially worked as a volunteer with the ministry while a student at Moody Bible Institute. Franklin later joined the staff through a partnership between Good Shepherd Church, where he was Pastor, and Sunshine.

Franklin now leads the coordinator of community outreach and volunteer recruitment at By the Hand Club for Kids.

Franklin and his wife, Bernadette, along with their daughter, reside near the ministry in the Washington Park community. They are members at New Life Celebration Church of God in Dolton, IL.

Franklin's passions include a heart to constantly reach out in empowering ways to those in our community who are near or at the bottom of life's circumstances. His concern, in particular, for youth and their mothers is constant. He also enjoys a "good" movie, a book on reconciliation, and sport's games (anything but soccer!).
