Sickle Cell Blood Drive

Sickle Cell Blood Drive (Change Starts Here)

Sickle Cell Awareness Month is observed annually in September. It is a time to raise awareness about sickle cell disease, a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of people worldwide.

On Friday, September 5th, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunshine was proud to partner with the Kay’s Korner Foundation, founded by our very own Kayla Williams (Founder & CEO), to host an awareness event right here at Sunshine.

We welcomed 16 participants who came out to learn more about sickle cell disease, its impact on the African American community, and how they can be a supporter in the fight against this illness.

Highlights included:
  • Free t-shirt giveaways
  • Educational resources about sickle cell disease
  • Blood donations made by Sunshine Gospel team members and co-workers
  • Opportunities to connect with Kay’s Korner Foundation and learn about their important work

We are especially grateful to our Sunshine Gospel Ministries staff and team members who showed up in support, rolled up their sleeves to give blood, and demonstrated the power of teamwork. Having one of our own, Kayla, lead this charge reminds us that together, we can make a lasting impact in our community.

Sunshine is proud to stand alongside our co-workers, partners, and community to raise awareness, spread education, and support those impacted by sickle cell disease.
